Overview

Join the Tiji Festival 2026 trip at Lo Manthang, the capital town of the once independent Lo Kingdom, Upper Mustang in the Himalaya. The Tiji Festival brings together locals and visitors alike in a celebration with prayers, worship, and traditional Tibetan Monks’ dances. Observe how the ritual is performed, and how it brings harmony to the communities. Discover how uniquely this festival has been passed down through the generations and how visitors and locals are able to experience its beauty and vibe.

The Tiji Festival is a rare chance to capture ancient traditional rituals and cultural aspects of the Himalaya. You may read a short introduction about Tiji Festival on this blog link as well.

We, Three Jewels Adventures, have been organising trips to experience this unique event every year. You can read a review of our client from the previous Tiji Festival trip here. The dates for the Tiji Festival 2026 have been confirmed according to the local Tibetan Lunar calendar. According to the exact dates, the Tiji Festival 2026 itinerary by Jeep is planned based on recent road construction and other infrastructures, both by the Nepal government and the local people in the area.  Now you don’t have to be an active trekker to experience this unique event. Lomanthang, the Tiji Festival site, is linked to the tourist city of Pokhara by a well-maintained road, which you can complete per the itinerary we have presented here.

Our experienced guide and other staff will ensure your comfort during the journey by reserving accommodation, spots for photography and observing the crowded ceremony during the event.

As the Tiji ceremony takes place in the afternoon, while you are staying at Lomanthang, during the early part of the day, you will also explore nearby tourist sites such as ancient caves, old monasteries, historic monuments and the culture of the Lo people.
