Pisang Peak (6091 mtr/ 19978ft) offers an excellent opportunity of ice-climbing in the Himalaya. It rises above Pisang village, one of the old Tibetan villages of the Manang valley area in the well-known Annapurna circuit trek. The western flank of the mountain is guarded by a hanging glacier and huge rock slabs, which adds a challenge to climb but there are ways to tackle that. A German Expedition made the first ascent of Pisang Peak in 1955. Since then Pisang has welcomed a considerable number of climbers from all over the world. As the motor road has reached the heart of Manag valley, the Pisang Peak Climbing trip can be completed in 10 days or less from Kathamndu.  Our itinerary, however, includes some trek days before and after the trip for acclimatization and exploration purposes.
