Mera Peak (6461m / 21,198ft) is the tallest ‘Trekking Peaks’ a category of peaks permitted for trekking groups); situated in the southern region of the Mt. Everest range. Climbing Mera Peak involves one full day straightforward glacier trek from its high camp to summit and back to the base camp. This trip is combined with beautiful lodge (tea house) trekking of lower Everest region which starts at Phaplu airport (2400 meters) then leads to Khare (last lodge). Next from Khare is the base camp where one has to spend the night in the tent. From the higher base camp, climbers aim for summit of this stunning peak. Mera Peak is suitable for novice to experienced climbers and also to those who wish to test their climbing ability before aiming higher peaks. Our itinerary for trekking and climbing to Mera Peak is carefully designed to cope altitude gain in safer way; at the same time allowing to enjoy beautiful trekking which falls in less crowded part of the Everest trek. The trip is led and supported by experienced local guides and support staff whilst we provide top level group climbing gears like tents, ropes and other necessary logistics.
