Manaslu Circuit Trekking goes around Mt. Manaslu (8156 m), the 8th highest mountain in the world and one of the fourteen 8000 meters plus peaks on earth. Mt Manaslu dominates the Manaslu Himalayan range bordering the Ganesh Himalaya range on the East and Annapurna Himalaya to the West. Manaslu Circuit Trekking is considered as a restricted trekking destination due to its sensitive northern border to Tibet, where trekking arrangements needs to be done through trekking agency with a certified guide.
The Manaslu circuit trek starts from a small village called Khorlabesi reached after a jeep drive from Kathmandu. The trek passes through lush hills and canyons, dotted with enchanting villages, towards the way to Larkya La pass at 5135 meters from the sea level. Villages on lower part of the valley is dominated by Hindu communities whereas the upper part is home of Tibetan origin Nubri people. Some of the hidden canyons behind the Gaint Mountains are hermitages of meditators in the past. The area is also considered as pure land or Beyul (pronounced as BeyYul in Tibetan) by Buddhist believers where spiritual practitioners believe to experience beyond worldly visions.
Larkya pass is one of the most beautiful passes of the Himalayan trekking routes. From the pass the trek drops down to Marshyangdi Valley, part of the Annapurna circuit trekking trail, and to the road which leads us back to Kathmandu or to Pokhara or other parts of the country. As the Annapurna circuit has been impacted by road construction, the Manaslu circuit trek is fast becoming a popular alternative trekking destination for the trekkers.
We have been organizing Manaslu Circuit treks on regular basis. We ensure you a safe and memorable trekking trip here with our guides who have led treks and received wonderful feedbacks from the past clients.
