Three Jewels Adventures is happy to introduce this unique travel experience in Kathmandu. With the “Old Kathmandu Walking Day Tour”, we travel back to the unique yet less known history of Kathmandu Valley, which once was known as Nepal Mandala. The places visited are off the common tourist routes, where old Hindu Temples and ancient Vajrayana Buddhist Monasteries co-exist together, and occasionally followers of both religions worship the same shrine side by side. You will experience a morning puja (prayer) at Buddhist and Hindu temples to an energizing afternoon at a typical local vegetable and daily grocery market, herb and traditional medicine shops and experience the daily life of a local indigenous people–the Newars of Kathmandu. The tour is led by an experienced guide who can explain not only the common tourist knowledge, but provide a deeper understanding of the life, culture and history of Kathmandu, Nepal and their people.
