Dhaulagiri Trekking, Dhaulagiri Base Camp and Dhampus Pass

Dhaulagiri (8167m) translates to “big peak” in Nepali or Sanskrit, the reference given to the dome-like Mt. Dhaulagiri; it is one of the highest peaks in the world, prior to Mt Everest being surveyed, it was regarded as the world’s highest. It takes a little over two weeks to walk around this giant peak along with its neighboring mountains. The Mt. Dhaulagiri circuit trek is spectacular and challenging. Only trekkers very experienced with high altitude and glaciers should take part in this journey. Three Jewels Adventure hosts this trek with an experienced team and professional logistical support and we include plenty of rest days in our itinerary ensuring successful and safe trek. The trek begins following a short drive from Pokhara to Beni and ends at Jomsom, in the Kaligandaki Valley of Annapurna. It is there that we drive by jeep or catch a return flight to Pokhara.
