Overview
Annapurna base camp (ABC), also known as Annapurna Sanctuary is one of the most popular places visited by many trekkers wanting to see the Annapurna Himalayan region. After a short flight, or drive (7-8 hours), to Pokhara, and another short taxi or jeep drive to the starting point, we begin Annapurna Base Camp Trekking. We pass through beautiful villages inhabited mainly by Gurung (ethnicity) People who are the famous Gurkhas in the British military since the first world till now days. The natural amphitheater is dominated by the Annapurna Mountain range. Annapurna base camp, at 4130m, is situated in the lap of the massive Annapurna I peak which is the first climbed 8000 meter peaks in the world. Views from the base camp are certainly breathtaking as it’s surrounded by many other peaks in all directions. Annapurna base camp trek is a good mid-level trek for experienced or new hikers.
