Annapurna Sanctuary is one of the most popular places visited by many trekkers wanting to see the Annapurna Himalayan region. After a short flight, or drive (7-8 hours), to Pokhara, and another short taxi drive to the starting point, we begin Annapurna Base Camp Trekking. We pass through beautiful villages inhabited mainly by Gurung People who were the famous Gurkhas in the British military and some of them still serve. The natural amphitheater is dominated by the Annapurna Mountain range. Annapurna base camp, at 4130m, is situated in the lap of the massive Annapurna I peak which the first climbed 8000m peaks in the world. Views from the base camp are breathtaking as it’s surrounded by many other peaks in all directions. Annapurna base camp trek is a good mid-level trek for experienced or new hikers.
